OVERVIEW
This ride from Indian Creek Road to Kelly Lake is 6.3 miles. The road is a well maintained dirt and packed gravel road. It is a strenuous ride with almost constant elevation gains of 400’ per mile. The ride is well shaded as it meanders up into the mountains through the thick forest canopy.
- At mile 3.6 keep right and continue up the mountain. (A left will bring you back to Indian Creek Road via the south fork of Indian Creek.)
- At mile 5.6 make a sharp left up the mountain. (Continue straight to go to Poker flat and eventually Indian Creek Road further up the mountain)
- At mile 6.3 arrive to the large parking areas for the lake.
A pit toilet and information board is the only services. By the restroom a single track trail leads to the lake about 300 yards away. There are a few picnic tables and fire rings around the lake as well a trail circling the lake. Kelly Lake is approx. 10 acres and is well stocked (regularly) with rainbow trout. Overnight camping is allowed. The lake will be inaccessible due to deep snow in the winter.
